Hard to employ

Work includes the development and delivery of training programs that explore the issues of the “hard to employ”. These are generally defined as adults with learning disabilities, mental health problems, or addictions to alcohol or drugs; individuals with a past felony conviction; those with limited/no English proficiency; the long-term unemployed and long-term welfare recipients. Discussion will center around empathy and understanding, social and cultural issues that impede an individual’s ability to find and keep jobs; helping individuals overcome barriers to employability, and enhancing access to services (i.e., literacy, employment training, childcare).
